6.5.1. Display Event Log

When you click on the "ShaoLin InfiniCluster" icon, the main panel will show the Event Log. Event log records the member event status from your cluster environment. The event log messages are sorted by date and time.

Members

Filter the event messages by selecting the members from list of members in order to read all the available messages or the specific member messages.

> "All" -- display all the available messages

> "Name of Members" -- display the messages from a specific members.

Type

Filter the event message by selecting the message types in order to read all the available messages or specific type of messages.

"All" -- all the available type of messages

"emergency" -- system is unusable

"alert" -- action must be taken immediately

"critical" -- critical conditions

"error" -- error conditions

"warning" -- warning conditions

"notice" -- normal but significant condition

"info" -- informational

"debug" -- debug-level messages

Event No.

> Event numbers are the number in order to represent the SIC system messages

Members

> The event message that belongs to / from which SIC member

Message

> Logged messages send from SIC.

6.5.2. Logger Configuration

You can read and receive the log messages by using logger feature, logger uses your existing Email and SNMP server as a communication interface to notify you SIC running status instead of read it from the Eventlog. You can perform the logger configuration by right click SIC plugins on the plugin panel . The configuration interface of logger as follow;

Log Level

When you select Log level, the level that you selected and up will be shows and log under event log.

- for example: "critical" is selected as the log level, you will receive the log message from critical, alert, and emergency messages from event log.

Notice Level

When you select notice Log level, the level that you selected and up will be sent to the SMTP server and SNMP server that you configure.

- for example: "critical" is selected as the log level, you will receive the log message from critical, alert, and emergency. messages from your mail account.

Email Notification
SMTP Server

If you would like to receive log and notification message from SIC, you can fillin your smtp server address in here.

You can fillin by using IP address, hostname, or smtp server address.

Sender

You can give a name that helps you to verify the messages.

Recipient

You need to put the E-mail address that you prefer to receive the e-mail messages.

SNMP Server

You need to put the E-mail address that you prefer to receive the e-mail messages.

After you configure the logger, then you are not only be able to verify the log from event log, you can check the log messages from your E-mail.
